School Programs
Since 1983, former classroom teacher, John, has used the arts of storytelling and music to empower students to truly care, work hard, take healthy risks, foster a love of language and celebrate life. Below are John's most often asked for school performances. Please do not hesitate to contact John if you are looking a themed program that is not listed here. He has given performances on many additional themes over his 30 full-time years of doing this work . Funny and moving stories, songs and music that celebrate the beauty of the natural world, explore our interconnections with that world and empower students to care for our planet. Ø One World: Multicultural Tales, Songs and Ethnic Musical Instruments Pre-K to 8th Grade and Family Nights. A whirlwind tour around the world though the funny and moving stories told by many earth’s peoples and music played on fascinating - beautiful instruments from many of the places they live. Ø Bridges of Understanding Grades 6-12. Engaging and truthful stories and songs that take a look at why we develop prejudice and how we can move towards building caring inclusive communities. Ø Celebrations of Light: A Patchwork Quilt of Beloved Stories and Songs to Welcome the Holiday Season Pre-K to 12th Grade and Family Nights. Enter a world where woolen mittens burst into laughter and snow banks melt to reveal blooming hearts.
